October 04, 2025 | Author: Dhaval Parekh
Boyue Likebook and Kobo Libra are both e-readers with 7-inch E Ink touchscreens. They are lightweight and compact devices are designed for long battery life. They allow to change the font size and style and are both suitable for reading in dark and light modes.

But Boyue Likebook runs on Android and have Google Play app store, meaning you can install any third-party apps. It has more RAM, so theoretically it runs faster. It also supports more e-book formats without conversion. However, its firmware updates are less stable and its bookstore ecosystem is weaker.

Kobo Libra is a hardware client for Kobo ecosystem with its extensive library. It runs on proprietary firmware based on the Linux kernel. This, of course, limits your choice of apps and book sources but ensures more optimized software performance that improves battery life. Kobo Libra offers advanced features like reading statistics, native integration with Instapaper for saving articles, more suitable menu and interface. Firmware updates are available regularly.
