2018. Arta Tech announces InkBook Explore

Arta Tech, a Polish firm specializing in e-readers for the past five years, has just introduced a new device: the Inkbox Explore. It features a 7.8-inch E Ink Carta screen with a resolution of 1872 x 1404 pixels and 300 PPI. The device includes a front light with an adjustable color temperature, allowing for comfortable reading in low light and reducing screen brightness. It is powered by an i.MX6SL processor (with an integrated E Ink controller), 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, plus a MicroSD slot that supports up to 32GB. This model stands out as one of the few e-readers equipped with USB-C, with Onyx being another brand offering this feature. The Inkbox Explore is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery, promising several weeks of use. Bluetooth functionality is included, enabling users to install their preferred audiobook apps for listening at any time. Running on Android 4.4.4, the device does not have a built-in app store, so users will likely need to download the Good e-Reader App Store for E Ink to access additional applications. It is priced at $189 USD and can be purchased from the Inkbook website.
