InkBook Prime vs inkBOOK Calypso

November 12, 2025 | Author: Dhaval Parekh
The inkBOOK Prime and inkBOOK Calypso are both 6-inch E Ink e-readers with a monochrome backlit screen. Both run Android and are positioned as open devices, not limited to a single e-book platform. They allow installation of third-party apps, support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connection and data transfer and support popular e-book formats (EPUB, MOBI, PDF).

However, the inkBOOK Prime is an older model (released in 2017). It has a low screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, 8 GB of memory + a microSD slot and a battery of approximately 2000 mAh (enough for several weeks). Its unique feature is the presence of physical page-turn buttons and you can even disable touch input to prevent accidental page turns. Overall, this e-reader is a budget option with good battery life.

The inkBOOK Calypso has a more modern version of Android and therefore has a wider selection of apps. It provides twice the internal storage for books, adjustable backlight color temperature (warm/cool) and is slightly lighter than the Prime. The e-reader is available in a variety of body colors, while the Prime is only available in black.
