Video: How to charge a Kindle?

You can charge your Kindle via USB, using a USB-cable with computer or power-adapter. To charge your Kindle from a power outlet, you need a compatible power adapter for the USB cable.
To charge the battery, connect the USB cable to a computer or a compatible power adapter and plug it into a power outlet. When your Kindle is charging, a lightning bolt appears on the battery icon at the top of the Home screen.
The indicator light on the bottom edge of your device turns amber while the battery is charging and green when it is fully charged. If you don't see a light, your Kindle is not charging.
Charging Kindle via USB cable will normally take four to six hours, but may take longer depending on the capability of the hardware. Charging should take less than four hours when using a power adapter.
