Priced at a cool $149, it’s $10 dearer than the 8GB version, because why not? In the past, Amazon has stealthily expanded Kindle storage without so much as a nudge in the price, but this time they’ve apparently decided the extra digital bookshelf warrants a small toll. Meanwhile, the basic Kindle, now a proud owner of 16GB, saunters in at a breezy $99, leaving one to ponder why anyone would opt for the quaint 8GB Paperwhite at $139. Enter the 16GB Paperwhite, solving problems Amazon invented to begin with.
