2025. Amazon added Recaps in Kindle for IOS

For fans of book series, remembering plots and characters after a long break from reading between new releases can be challenging. The new Recaps feature in Kindle works a bit like the “Previously…” section at the start of a new series episode. The feature was previously available on Kindle devices and is now available in Kindle app for iOS. It includes thousands of new bestselling books for now only in English. To see if a series has Recaps, look for the “View Recaps” button on the series page in your Kindle library. On Kindle devices, you can select “View Recaps” from the three-dot menu in the series group.

2021. Serial fiction app Radish acquired by Kakao Entertainment

Serialized fiction app Radish will be acquired by South Korean internet conglomerate Kakao Entertainment for $440 million. Radish initially concentrated on user-generated content, but now the main focus of its business is Radish Originals, or serialized fiction series created specifically for the app. Radish boasts millions of users in North America and the acquisition will assist Kakao Entertainment in expanding its webtoons and web novel business both there and in other English-speaking markets. Radish will maintain management independence and continue operating under its own brand.

2020. Dorian - interactive storytelling platform

Online service Dorian is hoping to empower fiction writers and other storytellers to create their own games. Without coding, a writer can essentially design characters and backgrounds by choosing from a variety of visual assets (and they’ll eventually be able to upload assets of their own), while using a flowchart-style interface to allow the writer to connect different scenes in the story and create player choices. And you can also collaborate on a story in real-time with other writers.
