Mendeley improves Search Experience

Mendeley has released new features that will make the researcher’s life a bit easier. The updated version adds ease to your search experience and be on a first name basis with your references. Users can now search for authors by their first name in the library search. Besides, the updated Mendeley Reference Manager allows to organise your library like a pro and sort your references by file, which means you can put all references with a file attached at the top. And if you want to turn a sub-collection into a parent collection, you can simply drag a sub-collection to “Collection” and just like that it becomes a parent collection.

EndNote 20 is now available for Mac
Commercial academic paper management software EndNote has released it's latest (20) version for Mac OS. As well as the Windows version, it features unlimited storage of references and attachments, ability to share library with up to 100 people, shared library activity feed logs changes made by collaborators, ability to insert citations and references from your library into your document and automatically builds a bibliography (in over 7,000 styles) directly in Word, add subheading and categories to bibliographies in Word, directly import references from online databases, one click find full text feature, citation report (with Web of Science subscription).

Mendeley has introduced new Web Importer
Mendeley has introduced a new version of Mendeley Web Importer, a tool that simplifies adding articles from the web to your reference library. The new Mendeley Web Importer is available for both Google Chrome and Firefox. Its engine has been completely redesigned to ensure the highest search reliability. It can continue downloading PDFs even if you close the window or switch tabs. If you prefer to scan the full text before adding it to your Mendeley library, you can now simply select "View PDF". The PDF will open in Elsevier's enhanced PDF reader, complete with navigation keys and interactive elements for viewing full text. The updated interface makes adding references directly to collections and groups in your library more intuitive and easier. It now also remembers your last selected collection, saving you time.

Zotero allows to move citations between Google Docs, Word, and LibreOffice
Zotero, the scientific paper management program, has introduced a new feature that allows users to transfer documents between Google Docs, Word and LibreOffice with maintaining active Zotero links. This means user can begin creating a document in Google Docs and then transfer it to Word or LibreOffice for final editing and vice versa. To use this feature, Zotero converts references and bibliography into a temporary format that ensures secure transfer between word processors. To get started, select "Switch to another word processor..." in the Zotero plugin's document settings window, save the converted file, open it in the other word processor and click Update to continue working. Google Docs users can also select "Switch to another word processor..." from the Zotero menu.
