Citavi inlines Web version with desktop's
Citation Management software Citavi has released a new version that brings the writing and knowledge management features of Citavi for Windows in line with Web and Mac versions. In particular, the Word Assistant, which was previously only available through the Citavi for Windows Word Addon, now works in Mac and Web-versions. Additionally, users can now insert categorized knowledge items along with their outline. This allows to obtain a bird's-eye view of their project and identify gaps where more research is necessary. The update also enhances the handling of knowledge items in the Citavi Assistant.

Mendeley Web Library is changing to the new Mendeley Reference Manager
Mendeley's Web Library has now been migrated to the new Mendeley Reference Manager, a cloud-based library that automatically syncs your changes across all your devices and within Mendeley Cite. The online and desktop versions of Mendeley Reference Manager have identical interface and functionality, making it easy to switch between them. Furthermore, the offline mode allows you to continue working while offline, ensuring your changes will be automatically synced when you get the connection. The new Mendeley Reference Manager also includes additional features that make reference management even easier, including Mendeley Notebook, which helps you organize notes and highlights from multiple PDFs in one place.

ProQuest has revamped the RefWorks platform to simplify the process of research and collaboration.
ProQuest has released a new version of its RefWorks reference management platform, designed to simplify and improve research and collaborative workflows for students and librarians. The platform features new WYSIWYG editor for customizing citations inserted into documents, as well as a built-in PDF reader with annotation and collaboration features. New access controls have been added to help libraries manage copyright compliance. Additionally, new plugins for Microsoft Office 2016 and Google Docs eliminate the need for traditional uploads. The new version also leverages Summon's proprietary citation discovery index, with 2.6B records, to check, correct and improve citations, increasing research efficiency.

Google starts scientific paper search engine Scholar 
Google has launched Google Scholar - academic search engine that provides a simple way to search for scholarly literature such as articles, theses, books and conference papers. It can be useful for researchers, students and academics as it allows to search for scholarly content across multiple disciplines and sources, including academic publishers, online repositories and universities. Google Scholar ranks search results based on the relevance of the content. Besides, it enables to create personal online article library with folders. It's slogan "Stand on the shoulders of giants", which was taken from an idea attributed to Bernard of Chartres, quoted by Isaac Newton, and is a nod to the scholars who have contributed to their fields over the centuries, providing the foundation for new intellectual achievements.
